Morecambe Cricket Club was established on Friday 7th June 1889, after a meetingheld in the Kings Arms Hotel Morecambe. Although the first cricket against a Lancaster XI was held in 1854 it took another 35 years before the club was formed.(See article).Over the past 120 years the club now stands as the premier cricket and social club in the area with over 600 members with a varied range of ages. Morecambe Cricket Club prides itself on a friendly, social environment where people can relax with friends whilst watching the hallowed sport of gentlemen.

Cricket  this season sees four senior teams in the Northern and Westmorland Cricket Leagues and is represented at junior level at U16s U14s U12s and U10's, and the coaching section cover children from the ages of 5. Click here.

In 2005 the Morecambe CC committee made big plans to extend the facilities to make the the club what it is today, incorporating new cricket changing and shower facilities, a larger function room with a capacity of 150 people, the facilities are available to hire by members and non members, for all occasions and other regular events are held throughout the year. The club is proud of the extensive facilities and events it has for the members, ranging from Summer Fete's to Football on sky TV. It also hosts various societies and social teams, and has recently implemented a very successful membership discount scheme, in order to benefit those who use the facilities the most.
